As you may recall, Glendale joined the 100,000 Homes Campaign in 2011 and we hit the ground running.  With support from Glendale Community Services & Parks and the Glendale Police Department, Ascencia hosted a large-scale volunteer training at First Baptist Church of Glendale on how to conduct a week-long homeless registry.  And with funding support from Glendale Adventist Medical Center, Glendale Management Association and First United Methodist Church of Glendale, we took to the streets in a pre-dawn canvassing effort to find and survey our homeless neighbors.  Since then we’ve chiseled away at the list, to provide permanent supportive housing to those who are most vulnerable to dying on the streets.

Last month, Ascencia held a press conference in conjunction with the 100,000 Homes Campaign to announce Glendale’s results.  Not only has Glendale exceeded expectations in housing 68 homeless people, but it has also decreased the count of homeless U.S. Veterans to just one in the City of Glendale.  All of this is a phenomenal result, placing Glendale shoulder to shoulder with major metropolitan areas including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York, D.C., and many other communities nationwide that are on track to end chronic homelessness outright within three years.  Together, all of these communities helped the 100,000 Homes Campaign reach its four-year goal to house 100,000 chronically homeless Americans!

Please RSVP your attendance by August 15 to or by calling (818) 409-0506.
